Nadda lauds Modi, Yogi for adroit tackling of pandemic

National president of Bharatiya Janata Party JP Nadda on Sunday applauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the centre and Yogi Aditya Nath in Uttar Pradesh for fighting Covid-19. He claimed that the Prime Minister timely created a task force for vaccinatio­n and as a result, the nation got not one but two vaccines within nine months of the pandemic.

“It matters who we have as our leaders and indifferen­ce in leadership harms the nation. It was PM Modi’s leadership at the centre and CM Yogi Aditya Nath’s in Uttar Pradesh which led to successful tackling of the pandemic,” said Nadda who was here for an organizati­onal meeting with office-bearers of Braj Prant. The office-bearers of party organizati­ons, district heads and district panchayat heads from 19 districts were present. The focus remained on achieving success in Mission 2022 when BJP will go all out to retain its rule in Uttar Pradesh.

Chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath, state BJP president Swatantra Dev Singh, organizati­onal leader BL Santosh and state in charge of Uttar Pradesh Radha Mohan Singh were also present in the close door meeting. The media was not allowed entry in the venue. State BJP secretary Anjula Mahour informed that focus was on strengthen­ing the party organizati­on to achieve success in the 2022 assembly elections. “Braj prant is an all important section as we have our MPS on 12 out of 13 parliament­ary seats,” she said.

Another state BJP secretary Vijay Shivhare informed that stress was on use of social media for circulatin­g the welfare programmes of the party.

Later, the party leaders attended a meet organized by doctors. Addressing the meet, Nadda lauded the role played by doctors during the pandemic.

“The BJP is training its activists to work as health workers and by August end, 4 lakh BJP workers would cover 2 lakh villages, equipped with kits. There are now 1,50,000 health wellness centres in villages as we modified the health policy. In the new policy, we want different wings of medical science working as compliment­ary to each other,”said Nadda.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided health cover of Rs 5 lakh to 50 crore population of India in Ayushman Yojna. New medical colleges are coming up, children are being vaccinated for different diseases and recovery rate from Covid -19 is 97 % in Uttar Pradesh,” claimed Nadda. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the nation self -dependent in oxygen within a week of the crisis. We now plan to have every citizen of India vaccinated by December end this year. The PM gave not only one but two Covid vaccines within 9 months of the outbreak of the pandemic,” said the BJP national president. Nadda praised chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath for bringing down Covid positivity rate to 0.001 % in Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing the meet, chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath hailed steps taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing money in accounts of poor and ration to the needy so that they did not starve during the pandemic. “We are now conducting 4 lakh Covid tests per day and are fully prepared to face the third wave if it comes. The hospitals are better equipped with oxygen plants now,” he said.
