Pro-hindu Rashtra party to decide on contesting UP polls by year-end

Calling for a new constitution to achieve the goal of Hindu Rashtra, the Hind Samrajya Party (HSP) has said it will decide on contesting the Uttar Pradesh assembly election by the year-end as there is pressure from party workers to take the electoral plunge. The state assembly polls are due early next year. Seeking an amendment to the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act and a law on the Waqf properties, HSP national president Hari Shankar Jain said it had begun its work in eight states by appointing office bearers there.

Jain also said the party was constituted in October 2018 and registered with the Election Commission (EC).

“We are yet to decide on contesting the election in Uttar Pradesh.

The party workers are putting pressure to prepare for the state assembly election. We will decide by the year-end,” he said.

“In UP, Yogi Adityanath is doing better than others and is committed to Hindutva,” he said.

“We are committed to the restoration of all temples demolished since the year 1192 but the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act prohibits conversion of any place of worship and provides for the maintenance of the religious character of any place of worship as it existed on August 15, 1947. The Prime Minister should amend the Act, making 1192 the base year in place of 1947,” Jain said.

‘A new constitution to achieve Hindu Rashtra is the need of the hour. Our party would stress on transparency and ethics in governance. Once governance is based on Hindu religion, all malpractices would be wiped away. We are not here for politics. We have differences with almost all present-day parties and maintain a distance from them,” he said.

“Our party has begun appointing office bearers in eight states. Much time was lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, the party is gearing up to address the plight of Hindus in states like Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya in the Northeast and Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the south,” he said.

“We are here to tell Hindus facing tough times in these states that a party has arrived to resolve their issues,” he said.

Jain said Ranjana Agnihotri was the founder president of Hind Samrajya Party while Jitendra Singh was the secretary and national convenor.
