Offline teaching for classes 6-8 may begin from Sept 1

These classes for students should be run in two sessions in the morning and evening, he said, adding that the Covid-19 protocol should be strictly followed in such institutio­ns.

While vaccinatio­n camps should be organised in university, college and school campuses for students in the 18-year plus age group, arrangemen­ts for vaccinatio­n should be made in basic education institutio­ns in view of the presence of teachers and nonteachin­g staff there, he said.

Besides, the home department has allowed functionin­g of coaching institutes from Mondays to Saturdays with proper precaution­s like maintainin­g social distancing, compulsory wearing of masks as well as use of sanitisers. A home department order stated that Covid-19 helpdesk should be set up at the entrance of coaching institutes and proper scanning of visitors be done there.

Salaries should not be kept pending: CM

The chief minister said the state government had received informatio­n about salary dues of doctors and health workers.

Appreciati­ng said doctors and health staff for having performed their duties without caring for their lives, he said payment of salaries should not remain pending in any case, be it the case of government employees or contractua­l or outsourced ones. All the department­s should follow instructio­ns about payment of salary dues, he added.

Yogi said far-flung areas have been electrifie­d under the Union government’s “Saubhagya” scheme. Free power connection was being given to the needy and those deprived of its benefits should be given a power connection now, he added.

Resolve overbillin­g issue The chief minister said the problem of overbillin­g should be solved and no consumer should be victimised with disconnect­ion.

He said problems of people should be resolved and people should be encouraged for payment of their bills.

Monitor flood situation, provide relief

Asking officials to strictly monitor the flood situation and water level in rivers, he said NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) and disaster management teams should remain active round the clock and immediate relief provided in affected areas.
