Prepare month-wise timeline for Ayodhya projects: CS
Chief secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari on Wednesday directed the departments concerned to prepare a month-wise timeline for the projects that were proposed to be completed by December this year in Ayodhya. He also told them to hold weekly meetings to review the progress of work.
The directive comes ahead of President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to Ayodhya later this month. Kovind will become the first Indian President to visit Ayodhya when he reaches the temple town on a special train on August 29 to offer prayers at the makeshift temple at Ram Janmabhoomi.
The chief secretary issued the directives while chairing the high empowered monitoring committee’s meeting on the integrated development of Ayodhya. Work-wise milestones should be fixed for other projects too, he said. The names of the officers responsible to execute the work and ensuring that all projects are completed on time should be mentioned, he said.
Reviewing the Panchkosi and Chaudahkosi Parikrama Marg, Tiwari asked officials to incorporate the work related to public amenities on both sides of the road, plantation and beautification in the detailed project report (DPR).
He told the officials to ensure completion of the road between Sugriva Fort and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Marg and from Shringar Haat to the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Marg
The Ayodhya administration on Wednesday made it mandatory for outsiders entering the town to show a negative RT-PCR report and restrict movement of people in the Shrawan Mela. All religious processions were also cancelled in view of a possible third wave of Covid-19, said officials.
Entry points to the temple town had been sealed while locals were being permitted entry by showing identity cards, they said.

He suggested that the proposed greenfield township in Ayodhya be developed in phases and the first phase be launched at the earliest.
In view of the pandemic, the Ayodhya administration cancelled religious processions and all activities at Mani Parvat fair related with the holy month of Shravan. Now, all festivities had been confined to temples.
“In view of possibility of third wave of Covid-19, all religious processions have been cancelled after consultation with seers. The step has been taken to make sure there is no crowd in Shravan Mela,” said district magistrate Anuj Jha.
As many as 32 government departments are implementing 32 projects worth Rs 28,000 crore in Ayodhya to develop the religious town as an international city.
