SAHARANPUR MAN ARRESTED FOR HACKING IN ECI WEBSITE, CREATING FAKE I

Uttar Police Police has arres 24-year-old man from the st Saharanpur district for alleg hacking into the Election C mission of India (ECI) we and creating over 10,000 voter IDS, officials said on day.

Reacting to the developm the poll panel said its databa ‘absolutely safe and secure’

The accused, Vipul Saini, has a bachelor of comp applications (BCA) degree, arrested on Thursday f Nakur town’s Maccharhed lage in Saharanpur, the p said.

During the initial inves tion, police found that S worked at the behest of a pe named Armaan Malik f Madhya Pradesh and cre more than 10,000 fake voter in over three months.

Saharanpur senior supe tendent of police S Channa told PTI that Saini was pai 100-200 per ID. When his b account was examined afte arrest, the police found R lakh deposited in it.

The account was immedi frozen, he said.

An ECI spokesperson sa Delhi that assistant electora officers (AERO) are mandat provide citizen-centric serv including printing of vote cards and timely distributio line with the theme of “No v to be left behind”.

“A data entry operator of of the AERO offices had ille shared his user ID and pass with a private unauthorised vice provider in Saharanp Nakud town to print some v ID cards.

“Both these persons have arrested,” the spokesperson adding that the EC databa ‘absolutely safe and secure’

Police are investigating source of the money in account of the accused and ing to find more details a Malik, who, Saini said, use send him details of the d work.

They have seized two com ers from Saini’s home.

Police said authoritie Delhi will now seek the co permission to take Saini to national capital for fur probe.
