I LIKE NOT BEING CAUGHT UP IN ANY CIRCLES, SAYS SUNNY LEONE
Sunny Leone forayed into South film industries nearly seven years ago, with a special appearance in the Tamil film Vadacurry. And ever since, she has done cameos in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam projects. Now, the actor has three films in the pipeline down South, where she will play the female lead, besides a bilingual project.
So, does she feel she’s being taken seriously as an actor now? “I don’t think it comes down to that,” says
Leone. “For me, everything needs to come together at the right moment. That’s how things have been since day one,” she says, adding that her decision to work in films down South wasn’t “necessarily planned”.
According to Leone, working in regional cinema strengthens an artiste. “When you work in different parts of India, you realise that each corner of the country and culture there are very different from each other. You end up learning a lot about people, which is always very fascinating,” she explains.
The actor, 40, recently wrapped up the shoot of Shero, a multilingual thriller. Known to stay away from the glitz and glamour of showbiz says the current situation is work in her favour, as it allows her to come home straight from work. “people I like spending time with having a couple of drinks with ar safe, trusted people.
