- MANINDER BUTTAR, Sanchita Kalra Sugandha Rawal

TFor Maninder Buttar, the tag of Bollywood doesn’t come with any special status or extra happiness. Currently, the Punjabi singer is enjoying the success of he fifth season of the popular Spanish series Money Heist is almost here. And fans can’t keep calm for its release tomorrow. So much so, that the buzz around the release has made a Jaipur-based firm, Verve Logic, declare a holiday. A letter from the CEO, Abhishek Jain states, “To avoid false leave emails and mass bunks, everyone can take a day off and enjoy the show ‘without made-up excuses’.”

In Delhi-ncr, eateries have geared up to mark the occasion in unique ways too. Manish Sharma, owner, Distillery Gurgaon says, “Our servers will be

dressed up as Dali and have

Sakhiyan 2.0 — a recreated version of his 2018 hit — which features in the Akshay Kumarstarrer Bellbottom. “The feedback has been great. Working in Bollywood with the song has been a good experience. But I feel equally happy when my single comes a theme menu.” To help patrons enjoy the epic craze, Saurabh Luthra, cofounder, Romeo Lane has introduced a special cocktail named after the show. “It’ll be complimentary for first 20 customers on premiere day,” he adds. Restaurateur Nishant Kumar, owner of Ministry of Sound, Noida has come up with dishes named after the characters. He says, “There’s a Berlin Pizza and a cocktail called Professor’s Plan B.”

Similarly, a restaurant named Money Heist Bar & Kitchen in Bengaluru is offering 15% off. Owner, Sreeram

Reddy, says, “We’ve been waiting for the new season and decided to give some discount to fellow lovers of the

show.” out,” he shares, adding, “I feel lucky that my singles have also done really well. So, it’s not like ki film mein jayenge tabhi hum kuch banenge, ya bade gaane milenge.”

Looking back at how his song found a place in the film, he reveals, “During the shooting of Filhall, I had met Akshay paaji. He sang the whole song in front of me, and expressed his desire to include it in one of his films. I didn’t know it would be Bellbottom .I was pleasantly surprised when I got to know about it.”

The Laare hitmaker is also ecstatic that Punjabi music has gained prominence in recent times, which in turn is helping singers find wider popularity.

“I feel lucky that Punjabi songs have witnessed a boom all over India. Koi bhi song aaye, har koi ek na ek baar toh sunta hi hai. That has worked in our favour. Also, Punjabi is similar to Hindi in some ways, and that has been a plus point for us,” Buttar shares.

Next, he has some songs lined up for Bollywood as well, and promises that they are not a recreation of any of his past work. “There are two songs which will soon come in films. They are originals, and I am looking forward to their release,” he concludes.

It’s not like ki film mein jayenge tabhi hum kuch banenge, ya bade gaane milenge.
