Ananya feels detached from idea of success, isn’t afraid of mistakes

Panday made her acting debut in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, and followed it up with Pati Patni Aur Woh the same year. Her second movie, Khaali Peeli, which opened on a digital platform last year owing to the pandemic, didn’t elicit the expected response, but she says she’s detached to the idea of success or failure. “One has to be neutral when both happen,” she muses.

The 22-year-old says, “When I entered showbiz, there was nothing (about the industry or experience­s) that I was prepared for. Everything was new to me, every experience has been new.”

While many believe the daughter of actor Chunky Panday had it easy in showbiz considerin­g her “star kid” tag, She was trolled for being from a filmy family, mocked for comments in interviews, and also body-shamed for her fashion choices.

And she picks the subject of fashion to reveal how she tackles such things, saying, “It is kind of funny because I am less conscious now. I know there are a lot of younger people out there who look up to me and try to dress like me. That is why I started putting out this message to come the way you are, dress the way you want to, wear what makes you comfortabl­e and makes you happy,” says the actor. Her funda? ‘Have fun, make mistakes, and laugh it off.

Nanak dukhia sab sansaar,” says Sunil Grover, who feels the pandemic has added pressure on everyone. “People are worried about losing jobs, not being able to pay rent, medical bills, etc. Those who don’t worry about money, stress about getting the right date for a wedding or the venue. In any profession, if you take stress, you will get stressed. On the other hand, there are many industries that are booming such as IT, delivery services, pharma etc. And in comparison, everyone comes up short. You have to live your life and be happy. Everyone has his or badminton se aaya,” he says.

Overwhelme­d by the congratula­tory messages pouring in from all quarters, including cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, actor Taapsee Pannu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nagar reveals he had gone off social media a few days before the event. “Maine paanch din se account chhor diya tha. Paralympic players ko itna support mil raha hai, it’s a good thing. Para sports ko agar aur zyada support milega toh aage aane wale players ke liye bahut achi baat hogi,” he says.

All set to return with the medal, he adds, “First I’ll go home and spend some time with my parents. Doston ke saath ghoomoonga, khaoonga piyoonga. Junk bhi kha loonga,” he laughs, adding, “Jo milega woh khayenge.”
