‘I DON’T THINK MERE NASEEB MEIN PYAAR HAI’

Faisal Khan doesn’t want to fall in love, says he’s happy focussing on his work life

- Vinay MR Mishra

Actor Faisal Khan, who is currently seen in a mythological TV show, wants to just focus on work. As for love, Khan believes it can be distracting, especially after the bitter experience of his last relationship that ended with dirty linen being washed in public. “I am not seeing anyone. I am single,” he clarifies.

Talking about being in love, he says, “That’s (being single) the best thing, as you can focus on your career. This is not the right time. Things have happened to me in the past.” After a brief pause, he adds, “I don’t think mere naseeb mein pyaar hai. I don’t want to date anyone right now. I’m happy with my life. I want to be [the] Salman Khan (actor) of the TV industry. Perhaps I’ll always be a bachelor like him.”

The 23-year-old has been in the public eye since he was a child and won a dance reality show. But, he reveals how growing up in the industry, in front of everyone, has cost him professionally. “I am saying this out of my experience. Growing up from a child [actor] to an adult [actor] is a task,” says Khan.

Explaining his point, the actor-dancer continues, “Those who have money can go underground and let puberty hit them. Then they reappear and be launched. But for someone [like me] who cannot afford to go underground or else his house will stop running, it gets difficult.”

He adds, “I would get a lot of offers for child characters. But they (the makers) would tell me, ‘Baccha nahin lag raha’. When I auditioned for mature characters, they would say, ‘Bacha hai’. So, a sabbatical is mandatory for every child actor, but it’s not affordable for everyone.”
