Historical religious places in Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti renovated

LUCKNOW : Under the state government’s policy to give a complete makeover to historical places of religious importance, several such sites have been completely renovated in Sant Kabir Nagar and Basti districts.

The famous Jharkhande­shwar Nath temple in Sant Kabir Nagar district has been given a complete makeover in which Rs 60.49 lakh has been spent.

Other temples to get complete makeover in Sant Kabir Nagar are Samaya Mata temple (Rs 66.57 lakh), Digeshwar Nath temple (Rs 88.42 lakh) and a Lord Shiva temple ( Rs 8.41 lakh).

In Basti district, historical places along the 84 kosi parikrama route have also been given a facelift.

On this route, Ram Rekha, a prominent stoppage point for pilgrims of the 84 kosi parikrama, has been renovated with Rs 90.24 lakh. Another stoppage point in this pilgrimage, Hanuman Bagh Ashram has been renovated with Rs 132.62 lakh.

Famous Tapsi Dham in Basti has been renovated with Rs 191.86 lakh and Bhadeshwar Nath Dham temple with Rs 66.90 lakh.

According to U.P. tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh, all historical places of religious importance in Sant Kabir Nagar and Basti districts have been renovated.

All such places across the state would soon get a complete makeover, Singh added.

54 projects in Ayodhya

The Yogi government in its second tenure would execute 54 projects worth Rs 3,126 crore in Ayodhya.

In its first five–year, the state government has completed 17 projects worth Rs 138 crore in Ayodhya as part of its policy to develop temple town as a prominent religious tourism destinatio­n of the country.

Apart from Ayodhya, the government is also developing Braj region as a major tourist destinatio­n.

The Brag Teerth Vikas Parishad has been constitute­d by the state government to execute all developmen­t projects in the region.

All religious places associated with Lord Krishna in the Braj region have already been identified and are being developed.

A ropeway is also coming up in Barsana region of Braj. Vrindavan, Nandgaon, Goverdhan, Gokul, Baldev and Radhakund have already been declared religious destinatio­ns by the state government.

According to the state government, largest city forest is being developed near Kalidah ghat of river Yamuna in Vrindavan.

Among other projects coming up in Vrindavan are community centre, Geeta Research Institute, auditorium and Annapurna Bhavan. Jubilee Park is coming up in Mathura among other projects.
