Singer KK’s (Krishnakumar Kunnath) sudden demise sent shockwaves across the nation on May 31. Almost a month later, the late singer’s daughter took to Instagram, urging the late singer’s fans to stop spreading hate towards his band members. In her long note, Kunnath Taamara wrote how fans are venting their grief in the form of hate mails to his teammates Hitesh and Shubham.

Sharing a photo of the singer with his team, she wrote, “We wanted to thank all the beautiful human beings in this picture for accompanying dad on all his travels and the vital contributions they made to his shows, making them the memorable spectacles they used to be. I told Hitesh uncle that mum, Nakul and I weren’t there for dad’s final moments, didn’t even get to say goodbye, but we were all so glad that he was by his side.”

She further added, “I’ve heard about hate mail and a lot of anger being directed towards Hitesh uncle and Shubham. To those of you resorting to such abuse, ask yourself what would dad think if he could see this? You’re basing your judgment on the word of sources that regularly photoshop thumbnails and include clickbait titles. Don’t spread hate on their behest.”

Yesteryear composer, late RD Burman, fondly remembered as Pancham da, was loved by all musicians who worked with him. On his 83rd birth anniversary yesterday, singers Anuradha Paudwal and Suresh

Wadkar walked down memory lane to remember one of their favourite music directors.

Paudwal, 67, who worked with Burman on songs such as Kabhi Kuch Pal Jeevan Ke (Rang Birangi; 1983) and Holi Aayee Re (Zalzala; 1988), says, “He was a lovely person, a gifted musician and a great music composer. It was always a pleasure working with him. He always had a smile on his face, which made the atmosphere around him really light and jovial.”

Singer Suresh Wadkar, too, remembers him fondly. “Pancham da was the most jovial person. He was very friendly with his singers. The love and respect he showered on me was unbelievable. He was the only music director who knew how to bring out the best results from his singers without making them nervous. He was a loving person, who gave us lots of beautiful songs,” the 66-year-old recalls, and goes on to dedicate a line from his famous Parinda (1989) song for Burman: ‘Tumse mil ke aisa laga, tumse mil ke armaan hue poore dil ke.’

Another aspect of the composer remembered fondly by his associates was his love for food. “He was a complete foodie,” recalls Paudwal, adding, “He loved cooking raan. He loved sharing recipes and talking all things food. His personality was effervescent in the food department. ”
