DIAMONDTREE introduces Mokume-gane solitaire bands crafted with Forevermark diamonds

- Shruti Nair

DIAMONDTREE, one of Delhi’s most trusted jewellers, has introduced a timeless and elegant collection of men’s solitaire bands crafted with beautiful Forevermark diamonds, using the innovative Mokume-gane technique of workmanship.

“The history of Mokume-gane is embedded in the Samurai history of 17th century Japan. At a time where a man’s sword was his lifeblood, warriors put care into personalising their swords and the Japanese metal workers were constantly at the forefront of new methods to decorate and customise swords. That’s how Mokume-gane entered the picture. The process of Mokume-gane involves layering and bonding several types of metals with laminate to create unique patterns. The term Mokume-gane means ‘wood grain metal’ because the pattern of the final product looks like natural wood. We have created a whole new collection of men’s rings using this technique. In this the amalgamation of yellow, rose and white gold is distinctly visible and forged to create subtle patterns centered with a Forevermark diamond. Men are usually very tactilely sensitive and not used to wearing rings, keeping this in mind we designed the bands to be super comfortable so as not to come in the way of any daily chores,” explains Cherry Sahni, Creative Director at DIAMONDTREE.

Today, a majority of grooms choose to wear their wedding / engagement rings as symbols of their love and devotion, yet they want these bands to be style statements as well. Gone are the days when men wore predictable standard yellow gold bands. Choosing the perfect wedding band can be a difficult decision, but DIAMONDTREE’S hand-picked selection of rings make the perfect addition to your special day.

A wedding ring symbolises the promise of commitment and devotion and is a reminder of your eternal love. DIAMONDTREE’S men’s rings are distinctive and make a great style statement.

Known for its superior craftsmanship and distinctive style, DIAMONDTREE is among one of the select authorised jewellers of Forevermark, the diamond brand from the De Beers Group. Every Forevermark diamond comes with a unique inscription number, which guarantees that every stone is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced. Less than one per cent of the world’s diamonds are worthy of this ‘certification’ making the stones as unique and special as your relationship.

At the age of 14, when Karishma Leckraz watched her mother use make-up, she was fascinated. Little did she know that her curiosity, which led her to try a lighter shade of foundation, would not only make makeup her full-time career, but also help raise awareness about atopic dermatitis (eczema), the skin condition she has been battling since childhood.

“At that point, foundations really did not have a variety of shades, and that's how I made my first make-up faux pas. But these lessons helped me learn about my skin,” says the London-based creator, who is of Indian descent.

Karishma first posted about her skin condition, which makes the skin red and itchy and flares up periodically, in 2017 but it was only recently that her posts gained traction. In a span of two weeks, her follower count almost doubled. Her aim is not numbers, but to help people understand and accept eczema, provide remedies and shut down conventional beauty standards.

“I was frustrated with the way beauty is portrayed in billboards and ads. I had to come to work every day with make-up on and, on some days, the inflammation

would have aggravated,” Karishma says.

So, with the support of her parents, friends and family, she decided to switch careers and start talking about eczema.

“I used to post my make-up looks with captions about the condition, which soon found positive comments and feedback. My DMS were filled with grateful messages, especially from parents of children suffering from eczema,” she says.

To cope with her eczema, Karishma has had to make dietary changes, such as completely avoiding dairy. “On some days, I’m tired of having to give all this up. However, I know I’m not alone on this journey!”
