Cidco will provide R2- crore grants to develop city schools
CBD BELAPUR: The City and Industrial Development Corporation ( CIDCO) will award grants of Rs2 crore each to local educational institutions that have existed in the city from the pre-1970 period.
The funds are to be used for the redevelopment of the premises of the educational institutions.
Rayat Shikshan Sanstha's Chhatrapati Shivaji High School and Junior College at Jasai will be the first beneficiary of the scheme.

“CIDCO's board of directors has approved the proposal to give grants to the schools in the city. As per the policy the grants will be for the development and maintenance of school buildings, laboratory, computers, library and other facilities,” said CIDCO's public relations officer Mohan Ninawe.
“The objective is to ensure that students of these schools get access to quality educational facilities in such schools. Following a proposal to give a grant to Chhatrapati Shivaji High School, CIDCO studied the request and the requirement in detail, following which the sanction was given," Ninawe said.
“CIDCO chairman Pramod Hindurao, Managing Director Sanjay Bhatia as well as directors Namdeo Bhagat and Vasant Bhoir all helped in the distribution of the grant process.”
