Have a complaint against illegal structures? Call toll-free number

CBD BELAPUR: As per the orders of the high court on March 4, this year, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation ( NMMC) has set up a complaint redressal centre (CRC) for action against illegal constructions, at all its eight ward offices.

Through these CRCs, action is being taken against illegal structures under NMMC jurisdiction. The respective ward officers have been appointed as designated officers for the purpose.

Municipal commissioner Dinesh Waghmare said, “We appeal to residents to dial the phone numbers of ward offices, if they find any illegal constructions within NMMC jurisdiction.”

He added, “Along with that at the headquarters, toll free numbers have also been provided at the ward offices as well. As soon as the residents complain to the CRC, immediate action will be taken by the CRC against the illegal structure. The residents will be updated on the action taken.”

Waghmare said, “Before purchasing flats, residents should check if the construction has the requisite permissions from NMMC. They should not purchase flats in buildings that do not have the requisite permissions.”

The commissioner said, “Residents should note that demolition action will be taken by NMMC against such buildings. They will also not be provided water and drainage facilities.”

Waghmare said, “We appeal to all the residents to cooperate with us to control the menace of illegal construction in the city.”
