KHARGHAR: The ITM group of institutions organised a blood donation camp on Friday for which their employees and students donated blood. The camp was organised at its various campuses on Friday to extend support to All India blood donation campaign, as part of a drive by HDFC Bank.

The ninth year of the mission witnessed exciting campaigns and activities.

“This campaign has now grown to become a blood donation movement. Starting this year, HDFC Bank is reaching out to corporates and campuses by setting up blood donation camps at their premises. More than 200 companies, including the ITM group of institutions participated in the initiative”, said Mr Bhavesh Zaveri from HDFC.

HDFC Bank started this initiative in 2007 when over 4,000 people volunteered for this cause. Since then, the camp has grown in size and stature.

ITM has been supporting the blood donation campaign for the last four years. This year saw 347 donors out of 486 entries in the camp at the ITM pan-India campus and corporate office.

“Every year, our nation requires about 5 crore units of blood, out of which only 80 lakh units of blood are available. A single drop of blood donated by each of us can save the lives of millions in India,’ said Lakshmi Murthy, HR Director, ITM Group of Institutions.
