Panvel will host a two-day regional meet for the awareness and spread of Sanskrit language on December 24 and 25.

The seminar of Konkan region workers of Sanskrit Bharti (SB) will be held at CKT college in New Panvel. A rally will also be held as a part of the seminar, on December 24 between 5 pm and 6 pm, to create awareness about Sanskrit language.

SB regional conve nor Shirish Bhadasgaokar and SB secretary Gurunath Rao addressed a press conference on the seminar along with MLA Prashant Thakur on Saturday.

The seminar will be presided over by Sanskrit expert Devdutt Sarode with Sanskrit film Priyamanasam director Vinod Mankara being the chief guest at the closing ceremony. Speaking at the press conference, Thakur said, “It is an honour for us that we are hosting the 2- day seminar in our city. The interaction is going to be of high standards and will boost the image of the city.”

Thakur said, “Sanskrit recognition in our country is on the wane. The fact is that internationally there is a lot of curiosity in the language because of its rich literature, books on mathematics, astronomy, the holy books, life sciences among others.”

“The meet will discuss how Sanskrit language can be spread far and wide and presented as an easy and attractive language.” said Bhadasgaokar.
