Masked men rob 6 shops at Kopar Khairane in an hour
NAVI MUMBAI: Some unidentified people broke into six shops at Kopar Khairane and decamped with the cash they found inside, within one hour, on Saturday.
According to the police, all six shops are located at Sectors 20 and 2.
The culprits entered the premises by breaking the locks of the shutters and stole collectively Rs52,300 from the cash counters.
“While the first shop sells ice cream, the second one was a popular cake shop. The third shop was a vegetable store and the rest three were hotels. There were no other valuables inside these shops and the culprits stole only cash,” said Ravindra Ahire, assistant police inspector from Kopar Khairane police station.
“The CCTV cameras installed in front of one shop shows three people wearing masks who broke into it around 5am. The other shops had no such cameras. We think the same gang targeted all six shops. Our investigations are on,” he said.
