SIES College film fest promises unlimited entertainm­ent

The popular Frames Film Festival (FFF) of SIES College, Nerul got off to a upbeat start on Thursday at the college auditorium. The theme for the 13th edition is ‘League of Villains’ and it aims to be ‘Bigger and badder.’

The three-day festival is in its 13th year. It showcases movies from across India as well as the globe. Actor Jackie Shroff will be the guest of honour on the concluding day on Saturday.

The chief guest at the inaugurati­on was the Zubaan film team starring Vicky Kaushal and Sarah Jane Dias. The special guests on the day were Renuka Shahane, Rajesh Khattar and Shantanu Ray.

Vinit Kapupara, chairman of the festival committee, said: “FFF is an initiative of the BMM department of SIES College, started in 2003. Years of hard work, focus, determinat­ion and genius minds have helped Frames achieve huge popularity. It is one of the largest under- graduate film festivals in India.”

Purva Bhosale, media PR, said: “The categories for FFF are short films, documentar­ies, animation films, music videos, public service advertisem­ents and commercial advertisem­ents.”

Bhosale said, “FFF provides a platform for the aspiring film makers to showcase their talent and explore the world of cinema.”

The fest features 30 entries of short films from BMM stream, 40 entries from non BMM stream, 8 documentar­ies, 15 Ad films, 13 animation films and 14 music videos. Vismay Kamate, member of the celebrity PR team, said: “Frames is a perfect platform for undergradu­ate filmmakers who are looking for a place to get noticed by the film fraternity. Frames gives them an opportunit­y to interact with filmmakers, actors, writers and other profession­als.”

He added, “F rames has been associated with quality film- making. This year is no different.”
