Cidco to start skill training for project- hit
CBD BELAPUR: Project-affected people (PAP) will soon get coaching for competitive exams and training in skill development.
City and Industrial Development Corporation ( Cidco) has identified seven interventions to fulfil the demand of skilled and unskilled labour in different sectors. The planning authority has tied up with institutions and organisations for programmes for PAP. The courses will start from March 7.
The interventions are coach- ing for competitive exams, specialised skilled academies, entrepreneurship development programmes, placements-linked vocational skill development programmes, gender resource centre at Khandeshwar, education through use of technology, and information education and communication activity.
Cidco vice- chairman and managing director Sanjay Bhatia, in a press conference on Thursday at Cidco Bhavan in CBD Belapur, said various initiatives will be started under the Cidco Transformative Action for Rurban Advancement (TARA) for PAP.
He was accompanied by V Radha, joint managing director and Mohan Ninawe, senior public relations officer at the press conference.
“Cidco TARA has been conducting various employability programmes to enhance the skills and provide employment opportunity to the sons of the soil,” said Bhatia.
He said, “Under this initiative, 90% preference shall be given to PAP while 10% will be given to general public.”
Radha presented a detail of the various training programmes, workshops, and initiatives launched under Cidco TARA.
She said, “Through this, the PAP can get avail of various job opportunities.”
Cidco TARA has been conducting various employability programmes to enhance the skills and provide employment opportunity to the sons of the soil.
