Cidco to start skill train­ing for pro­ject- hit

CBD BELAPUR: Pro­ject-af­fected peo­ple (PAP) will soon get coach­ing for com­pet­i­tive ex­ams and train­ing in skill de­vel­op­ment.

City and In­dus­trial De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion ( Cidco) has iden­ti­fied seven in­ter­ven­tions to ful­fil the de­mand of skilled and un­skilled labour in dif­fer­ent sec­tors. The plan­ning au­thor­ity has tied up with in­sti­tu­tions and or­gan­i­sa­tions for pro­grammes for PAP. The cour­ses will start from March 7.

The in­ter­ven­tions are coach- ing for com­pet­i­tive ex­ams, spe­cialised skilled acad­e­mies, en­trepreneur­ship de­vel­op­ment pro­grammes, place­ments-linked vo­ca­tional skill de­vel­op­ment pro­grammes, gen­der re­source cen­tre at Khan­desh­war, education through use of tech­nol­ogy, and in­for­ma­tion education and com­mu­ni­ca­tion ac­tiv­ity.

Cidco vice- chair­man and man­ag­ing di­rec­tor San­jay Bha­tia, in a press con­fer­ence on Thurs­day at Cidco Bha­van in CBD Belapur, said var­i­ous ini­tia­tives will be started un­der the Cidco Trans­for­ma­tive Ac­tion for Rur­ban Ad­vance­ment (TARA) for PAP.

He was ac­com­pa­nied by V Radha, joint man­ag­ing di­rec­tor and Mo­han Ni­nawe, se­nior pub­lic re­la­tions of­fi­cer at the press con­fer­ence.

“Cidco TARA has been con­duct­ing var­i­ous em­ploy­a­bil­ity pro­grammes to en­hance the skills and pro­vide em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­nity to the sons of the soil,” said Bha­tia.

He said, “Un­der this ini­tia­tive, 90% pref­er­ence shall be given to PAP while 10% will be given to gen­eral pub­lic.”

Radha pre­sented a de­tail of the var­i­ous train­ing pro­grammes, work­shops, and ini­tia­tives launched un­der Cidco TARA.

She said, “Through this, the PAP can get avail of var­i­ous job op­por­tu­ni­ties.”

Cidco TARA has been con­duct­ing var­i­ous em­ploy­a­bil­ity pro­grammes to en­hance the skills and pro­vide em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­nity to the sons of the soil.
