The el­derly of Kamothe have got a cen­tre to re­lax, play and in­ter­act with oth­ers.

“It will be a plat­form where the se­niors can meet, play, in­ter­act, share their feel­ings and emo­tions and spend some qual­ity time,” said Ra­jen­dra Cha­van, joint man­ag­ing di­rec­tor, Cidco, at the in­au­gu­ral cer­e­mony of the Se­nior Ci­ti­zen Cen­tre at Kamothe on Thurs­day.

Pan­vel MLA Prashant Thakur in­au­gu­rated the cen­tre.

The Se­nior Ci­ti­zen Recre­ational Cen­tre is at Sec­tor 20, Kamothe.

Ki­ran Phanse, su­per­in­tend­ing en­gi­neer ( Kamothe and Kalam­boli), said: “The con­struc­tion of the cen­tre has been fin­ished well be­fore the com­ple­tion date. The cen­tre is equipped with in­door games like carom and chess. Com­fort­able chairs, ta­bles and seat­ing ar­range­ment have also been pro­vided.”

The built up area of the recre­ational cen­tre is 30 square me­tres.

It also has a mul­ti­pur­pose hall with toi­let fa­cil­ity for or­gan­is­ing gath­er­ings and cul­tural pro­grammes.
