PRESIDENT’S MEDAL FOR THREE COPS
Three officers of Navi Mumbai police were on Tuesday presented t he President’s police medal for gallantry, distinguished and meritorious service. The medals were presented by governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao at an investiture ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.
The awards had been announced for the officers in the year 2003 for excellent service track record.
Those who have been presented the medals are assistant commissioner of police (crime) Rajendra Bhamre, assistant commissioner of police (Vashi) Arun Walture and assistant police subinspector Santoshgir Gosavi.
Walture said, “It is indeed an honour to have received the medal which every policeman wants. It is a recognition of years of dedication and efforts put in by us.”
He said, “I accept the medal with all humility and thank my seniors and the public at large for the cooperation extended by them.”
Walture added, “Such recognition encourages and motivates one to contribute even more to the force and engross oneself in the service of the people.”
