Asked if MNS planned to burn au­torick­shaws in Navi Mum­bai as asked by their leader, city pres­i­dent Ga­janan Kale said, “An or­der is an or­der. We will burn down the RTO too if re­quired.”

Kale said, “Of the 1,943 ap­pli­ca­tions for auto per­mits, sev­eral non-Ma­ha­rash­tri­ans have sub­mit­ted bo­gus doc­u­ments dur­ing the ver­i­fi­ca­tion process.”

Deputy RTO San­jay Dhaigude said, “Dur­ing the ver­i­fi­ca­tion process, we have re­ceived doc­u­ments from 1817 per­sons.

“A to­tal of 126 have not sub­mit­ted their doc­u­ments and hence will not be el­i­gi­ble for the per­mit. Of th­ese 651 ap­pli­cants are orig­i­nally from out­side Maharashtra. There are 64 women ap­pli­cants as well
