ON THANE-BHIWANDI ROAD

■ A 27-year-old youth lost his life while returning to his home in Bhiwandi from Bandra. Around 5am, Vishal Chaudhary, 27, was driving back to Bhiwandi when his car hit a stationary tanker. The police suspect Chaudhary was driving at a speed of 60-70km/hour.

■ “The impact was so huge that the car was mangled and the police had to call the fire brigade to cut open the car and take out the body,” said the police. The tanker driver fled from the spot.

■ Around 5.30pm, about 100 metres from the accident spot, an autorickshaw driver died after his vehicle, hit by a State Transport bus.
