CBD BELAPUR: The NMMC has been or­gan­is­ing a num­ber of pro­grammes in the city, un­der the Swachch Bharat Mis­sion, which has wit­nessed un­prece­dented re­sponse from the cit­i­zens. A spe­cial clean­li­ness drive in govern­ment of­fices has been un­der­taken by the NMMC from March 1 to 15. A spe­cial clean­li­ness drive was un­der­taken at NMMT bus de­pot in Turbhe on Thurs­day, in the pres­ence of mayor Sud­hakar Son­awane and NMMT chair­man Sabu Daniel. Over 100 of­fi­cers and per­son­nel from NMMT and 152 stu­dents of DY Patil Univer­sity par­tic­i­pated in the drive. A sim­i­lar drive was con­ducted at APMC mar­ket’s ad­min­is­tra­tive build­ing, the of­fices and Sec­tor 19 of Vashi. An­other drive was un­der­taken at Turbhe ward of­fice and its sur­round­ings by the of­fi­cers and per­son­nel. NMMC chief Di­nesh Waghmare said, “Dur­ing the spe­cial drive, we are in­spect­ing the clean­li­ness in the of­fices, the num­ber of of­fice uri­nals and rest rooms and the state they are in and also the fa­cil­i­ties pro­vided in them.” He added, “Based on the marks each of­fice gets, we will de­clare the clean­est govern­ment of­fice and build­ing.”
