THANE: A 36-year-old steel trader was allegedly kidnapped and beaten up by five unknown men on Tuesday.

Gokul Tiwari was going to Kalyan from Ghodbunder Road on his motorcycle in the morning when a Qualis stopped in front of him.

Five men got out of the SUV, covered Tiwari’s face with a black cloth and pushed him into the car.

Tiwari told the police that he was driven somewhere which he does not know. He also said that he was threatened with a weapon, but he could not see what it was as his face was covered.

Around 8pm, he was dropped at Ambernath near MIDC threatening him not to complain to the police.
