MAN KILLED BY BROTHER AT PANVEL

NAVI MUMBAI: A 32-year-old man died after he was hit by a stick on his head by his younger brother and three other people at a quarry in Panvel on Thursday evening.

According to the police, Dharmashan­kar Kohl and his brother Jagdish worked at Sameer Chauguale quarry at Kundewar village. They were not in good terms over a property for the past several months.

Around 9pm on Thursday, as they were sitting with some other workers of the quarry, Jagdish broached the property issue and started questionin­g Dharmashan­kar. He tried to reason, but Jagdish was not ready to listen.

“Within a few minutes they got into a scuffle. In a fit of rage, Jagdish, along with three of his friends, attacked Dharmashna­kar with a stick on his head and then fled the spot. Dharmashan­kar suffered severe injuries in the attack and he died after sometime,” said a police officer from Panvel city police station.

“We are now searching for them and hope to solve the case soon. We are also trying to understand if there were any other reasons behind the murder,” the officer said.
