18-year-old held for molesting old woman

THANE: An 18-year-old youth from Kalyan was arrested on Saturday for allegedly molesting an old woman in her house, police said.

The incident took place in the wee hours of Wednesday when the woman, aged around 100 years, was alone at her house and sleeping in Galegaon village.

The accused, who lives in the same neighbourhood, suddenly barged into the room and molested her, Kalyan taluka police station V R Andale, said.

The youth, identified as Akshay Borade, was arrested on Saturday from the village.

He was booked under the Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 451 (housetrespass).
