Minor raped by two brothers in Diva

A 15-year-old girl was raped by her friend’s relatives on Wednesday.

She was initially kidnapped by the two accused, who are brothers, and taken to a secluded place.

One of the accused, Avinash Patil, 21, was arrested on Saturday.

His 25-year-old brother Bhavesh, is on the run. They are residents of Diva in Thane.

On Wednesday, the minor girl was going to a shop to buy craft material for her school work. She had just come back from school .

The two accused kidnapped the girl when she was going to the shop.

Both of them came in an autorickshaw and seeing the girl, they caught her and forced her into the autorickshaw.

They took her to a room in a secluded area and raped her. They threatened the girl to not to disclose the incident to anyone.

The girl returned home and told her mother who then approached the police and lodged a complaint.

A police officer from Mumbra police station said: “We have arrested one accused and soon he will be produced in court.”

He said, “We have searching for the other accused. We have booked them under sections 376, 342, 506, 363, and 366 of the IPC and Prevention Of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 (POCSO).”

“The girl has been admitted to a private hospital. Further probe is on,” he added.
