CIDCO IS­SUES FINANCIAL BID

The much de­layed Navi Mum­bai In­ter­na­tional Air­port (NMIA) project has inched closer to re­al­ity with Cidco on track on its tar­get of first flight in De­cem­ber 2019.

Cidco has started giv­ing bid doc­u­ments to the three short­listed bid­ders that were ap­proved by the state cab­i­net two weeks ago.

Ac­cord­ing to CIDCO joint man­ag­ing di­rec­tor, V. Radha, “To­day bid doc­u­ments are be­ing given to the shot-listed bid­ders. They will be given 4-5 months to re­spond.”

She said, “While we do have the broad plans of the pro­posed air­port in terms of hav­ing two run­ways, the bid­ders will come up with their own mas­ter plan for the project.”

She added, “They will also give de­tails of how they will pro­cure the fi­nance for the project.”

Ac­cord­ing to Radha, “The bids clo­sure will be by Septem­ber or Oc­to­ber, if we give an ex­ten­sion. By De­cem­ber or max­i­mum Jan­uary next year, we will have de­cided on the fi­nal bid­der who will take up the air­port project.”

The three qual­i­fied ap­pli­cants for NMIA project are ma­jor global play­ers , who have suc­cess­fully de­vel­oped and op­er­ate world class air­ports across the globe

These are GMR Air­ports, Mum­bai In­ter­na­tional Air­port Pvt. Ltd (MIAL) and MIA In­fra­struc­ture Pvt. Ltd. (VINCI Air­ports In­ter­na­tional S.A. & Tata Realty). Zurich Air­port and Volup­tas De­vel­op­ers (Hi­ranadani group) which was the fourth bid­der short­listed ear­lier was later dis­qual­i­fied dur­ing the screen­ing process.

Se­nior pub­lic re­la­tions of­fi­cer of Cidco Mo­han Ni­nawe said, “The bid­ders will bid for the award of air­port con­ces­sion with the bid pa­ram­e­ter be­ing % share of gross rev­enue of­fered to Cidco.”
