She added, “I had also demanded that the land mafia that cheated them be brought to book. Action should also be taken against the officials who provided them with electricity and water all these years giving legality to the buildings.”

Mhatre said, “The chief minister had then said that the Digha houses will be regularised. I, however, informed him that there are similar such instances in other cities too. There is the issue of Digha buildings as well as the PAP structures in the gaothans. I asked for them all to be regularised.”

She said, “The Digha structures have come up on CIDCO and MIDC land. As per the proposal, in case of open and free land, the structures will be regularised. However, if they are on reserved land or land that is under CRZ and so on, they will not be regularised.”

Mhatre said the proposal will be submitted the high court on Monday. The GR will be put in public domain for objections and suggestions. ”
