CM has said Digha, PAP houses will be regularised: MLA ON CORRUPTION IN NMMC
Belapur MLA Manda Mhatre has stated that chief minister Devendra Fadnavis announced in the assembly on Friday that both Digha buildings and projectaffected people’s structures built up to 2015 will be regularised.
She said the government’s proposal will be submitted to the court on Monday. It will later be presented to the public for objections and suggestions.
Mhatre held a press conference in CBD Belapur on Saturday to give details of the proposal. She batted for the redevelopment of CIDCO dilapidated buildings, alleged corruption by some NMMC officials in the actions being taken in the city and opposed construction of new schools for the physically challenged, by the civic body.
Mhatre said, “I had been following up on the illegal Digha buildings issue for the past two years. I had asked for the buildings to be regularised after the residents being charged a penalty or that they be rehabilitated.”
She added, “I had also demanded that the land mafia that cheated them be brought to book. Action should also be taken against the officials who provided them with electricity and water all these years giving legality to the buildings.”
Mhatre said, “The chief minister had then said that the Digha houses will be regularised. I, however, informed him that there are similar such instances in other cities too. There is the issue of Digha buildings as well as the PAP structures in the gaothans. I asked for them all to be regularised.”
Mhatre said, “I am very glad that the chief minister has stated that both the Digha and the PAP structures constructed up Members of Navjeevan Centre, an NGO run by Mar Thoma Church, took out a bike rally on Saturday to spread awareness on saving the girl child and stop human trafficking. The rally started from Sector 17 at Vashi to NMMC headquarters. “Protection of God’s creation is the primary duty of every person,” said bishop Rt Rev Dr Geevarghese Mar Theodosious Episcopa. to 2015 will be legalizsd as per the specified norms that have been stipulated in the proposal.”
She said, “The Digha structures have come up on CIDCO and MIDC land. As per the proposal, in case of open and free land, the structures will be regularised. However, if they are on reserved land or land that is under CRZ and so on, they will not be regularised.”
Mhatre said the proposal will be submitted the high court on Monday. The GR will be put in public domain for objections and suggestions. ”
