BIKER KILLED, 1 INJURED IN PALM BEACH ROAD ACCIDENT

-

A 26-year-old youth was killed and his friend critically injured in a bike accident on Palm Beach Road on Wednesday morning. Police suspect the deceased was speeding and his bike crashed into a fence. The duo was not wearing helmets. The accident occurred at around 9.30am in the Seawoods section of the road between Akshar tower and NRI Colony.

The deceased has been identified as Mustufa Busheri, a resident of Kharghar. The injured is Indrapreet Arora, 25, a resident of Kopar Khairane. He has been admitted to DY Patil hospital with severe head and leg injuries.

According to assistant police inspector (traffic) Anil Pawar, “The duo works in a call centre in Vashi. They were heading from Vashi towards CBD Belapur.”

He added, “Prima facie, it seems that Busheri lost control of his bike and crashed into the fence next to the road. He died. His friend, who was seriously injured, was rushed to the hospital for treatment.”

Pawar said, “Despite awareness on speeding and wearing helmets, several motorists continue to ignore the warnings. Sadly one more precious life has been lost.”

The police said that further investigations are on.
