`15 crore for Diwale village development: MLA

The exhibition, in which the works of 20 photo journalists are displayed, was inaugurated by Thane mayor Sanjay More and TMC chief Sanjeev Jaiswal. The exhibition will be on till August 21.
Diwale village will be the first smart village of Navi Mumbai. Announcing this, MLA Manda Mhatre has stated that she is committed to the overall development of Diwale village. She said that the government is all set to grant Rs15 crore for the village’s development.
Since becoming the MLA of Belapur constituency, Mhatre has constantly followed up on gaothan issues, especially of jetty repairs, with the state government. She has got the repair work done at Ghansoli, Vashi and Diwale.
Maharashtra Maritime Board spent Rs3.74 crore on Diwale jetty, which was inaugurated on Narali Purnima on Wednesday.
Speaking at the inauguration of, Mhatre, said, “Earlier, some political leaders in Navi Mumbai has created a lot of hurdles for me to prevent me from taking up developmental work. However, now our government is in power. I will now get state and central government funds.”
Speaking on her plans for the village, Mhatre said, “Sixty galas will be constructed in Diwale village for storing fish at the jetty. A total of Rs15 crore will be spent for village roads, fish and vegetable market, parking facility, modern marriage hall and so on.”
Mhatre said, “I will submit a request to the chief minister to exempt Koliwada and gaothan areas from CRZ regulations. I will then follow up on the issue.”
