Rape survivor files complaint after delivering baby

A minor girl recently lodged a rape case after she gave birth to a baby. She had not realised she was pregnant after the incident. The 17-year-old girl is a student.

She told the police that a man took her to an isolated area in Kalyan and raped her repeatedly. He dropped her near her house and fled. She said she was unconsciousness and does not remember anything. After more than a month, she had severe stomach pain. She saw a doctor, who prescribed her painkillers.

S Tadakhe, officer from Khadakpada police station, said, “When the girl complained of unbearable pain, a sonography was done. The doctor told her that she was pregnant.” A few days ago, the girl delivered a baby and lodged a complaint on Friday.
