MUMBAI: Ever since the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) decided to invite applications for the post of senior men’s team coach, many have written to the Ombudsman cum Ethics officer, Justice (retd) Vijaya Tahilramani, requesting her to take up and resolve their pending complaints at the earliest.

Those who have written to Tahilramani include former Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) chairman Lalchand Rajput and member of the CIC, Raju Kulkarni. The two have requested her to put a stay on the appointment of the Jatin Paranjpe-led CIC and any decisions taken by it till she gives a verdict.

“The secretaries and new CIC committee are in the process of appointing the coaches and selectors which should be restrained from making such cricketing decisions till our petitions are heard and made your decision on it,” Rajput wrote in an email to the Ombudsman.

Besides appointing selectors and coach, the MCA also wants to pass the maintenance contracts, which has been objected by Ravi Mandrekar, who represents the Gaud Saraswat CC.

“The delay in the restraining order will make my complaint infructuous and will cause an extremely bad precedent and irreparable damage to the Association. I hope you will do needful,” he wrote in an email on Wednesday to the Ombudsman,

Ex-MCA president Ravi Savant and former vice-president Pankaj Thakur have also urged the Ombudsman to take action on the pending petitions at the earliest.
