MOBILE DEALER KIDNAPPED, ROBBED, BEATEN BY FRIENDS
THANE: A 22-year-old man from Thane alleged that he was kidnapped at gunpoint and beaten up by his friends and robbed of Rs 3 lakh at Bhiwandi recently.
The accused have been identified as Hemant Gulvi, 34, Satish Pahurkar, 24, Vetal Patil, 22, and Nitesh Patil, 22. The six accused are from Bhiwandi and are all farmers.
Vaibhav and Sagar fled, taking with them a gold chain, mobile phones, a gold bracelet and gold rings.
The other four have been arrested by the Thane crime branch unit 5. The police have recovered Rs30,000 from them.
“A f t e r t h e i n c i d e n t t h e accused fled and the victim who went for search of the accused. He then wrote an application to the Thane commissioner of police Parambir Singh. After a preliminary inquiry, a case was lodged on Thursday,” said additional police inspector (zone 5) V Dalvi.
A case has been registered with the Narpoli police station against the four accused. They have been produced in court and were remanded in police custody till August 3.
Dalvi added, “We are investigating the case ahead and that all the accused are from Bhiwandi area. Their main aim to robbery was to earn money. Sharma was also threatened by the accused by a country-made gun, which is yet to be recovered.”
