THANE: The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) chief held a review meeting with civic officials, health department and police officers on Saturday regarding the strict implementation of lockdown. Vijay Suryavanshi has told authorities to catch those loitering on the roads and take them to testing centres for antigen test.

Provisions for ambulances to take those who have tested positive will also be made. KDMC chief, Suryavanshi, has asked all the ward officers to inspect their respective wards after 11am and ensure that all complaints about ice-cream parlours opened after midnight and crowd outside wine shops should also be looked into.

“All officials should inspect their respective areas at least two or three times in a day. If need be, make use of drones to inspect the market areas. If hawkers are found after 11am, strict action should be taken and restaurants that are open for customers should be sealed right away. The number of cases has reduced in the past few days. However, we have to ensure that people do not take it easy and continue to loiter around. Strict implementation of the lockdown will be ensured for the next 15 days within KDMC,” he said.

Meanwhile, police officials will also provide strict vigilance. Vivek Pansare, DCP, Zone 3, said, “In Kalyan and Dombivli, there are nakabandi points where there should not be any crowding. Many residents often travel from East to West and vice-versa without any reason. Police should be stricter.”
