Siblings arrested for murder of 30-year-old

THANE: Shil-Daighar police have detected a murder case of a 30-year-old man whose body was found in a red trunk near Diva creek area. The deceased’s girlfriend, with the help of her brother, killed the man as he refused to marry her after sexually exploiting her for two years. Both the siblings have been arrested in the case.

In the evening of May 13, police and fire brigade officials received a call about a red trunk near the bushes of Diva creek. The officials reached the spot and found a man murdered, tied and packed inside the trunk.

Senior police inspector, C Jadhav, said, “After inquiring with three or four trunk dealers, we have received information from a Dharavi-based dealer from whom a woman purchased the trunk on April 30. Our team received details and contact numbers of women. We came to know that the woman was meeting someone at Borivali.”

The woman was identified as Anita Yadav, 26, resident of Navi Mumbai. Police arrested her after she confessed to the crime. Jadhav said, “Yadav, with the help of her brother, Vijay Bhallare (22 years), decided to kill the deceased, Manish Yadav, as he refused to marry her. The duo reached the deceased’s house, killed him by smashing his head with a hammer.”

Body found near Bypass

An unknown body of a 45-yearold man was found near Mumbra Bypass road on Saturday evening. Mumbra police have sent the body for post-mortem and investigation is going on.
