SEPARATE VAX CENTRES FOR THOSE SEEKING OPPORTUNITIES OVERSEAS SOON
THANE: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) will soon set up separate vaccination centres for students waiting to go abroad for studies or job opportunities. This is close on the heels of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s decision to allow students who have admission in colleges abroad to get vaccinated.
Thane Mayor, Naresh Mhaske, on Saturday asked TMC to make provisions for students and those with job availability to get vaccinated.
“There are many students who have got admissions to study abroad and those who have got jobs outside. A facility will soon be started in Mumbai. So, for the convenience of those residing in Thane, we should have a separate vaccination centre within the TMC jurisdiction as well,” said Mhaske.
A few students took to social media requesting TMC to make such provisions for the convenience of students and job seekers from Thane.
After receiving the request letter from the mayor, TMC’s vaccination department is planning to start a separate centre for Thane soon. “We are still in the planning stage and will shortly provide a way to make it easier for those who require vaccination. We do not intend to hamper future or career options for anyone and hence, as per the vaccine availability, will come up with a suitable provision soon,” said a senior official from TMC. This will come as a relief for students and job seekers from abroad staying in Thane.
