FIND A WAY TO EXPAND LOCAL TRAIN NETWORK

Local trains are the most preferred mode of transportation for lakhs of commuters, who travel to and fro in them every day (Money problems stall plan to expand local train network, July 24). Hence, the expansion plan, which aims at increasing capacity, improving connectivity and reducing travel time for commuters, must see the light of day. For this, the authorities must find a solution which will not only ensure that the expansion plan materialises and commuters are not burdened with high fares. Probably, gradually increasing the fares will make the suburban network financially sustainable.
