MAN HELD FOR RAPING TEEN DAUGHTER

MUMBAI: The Kurar police have arrested a carpenter for allegedly raping his teenage daughter for over a year.

The 19-year-old girl recently approached the police after she decided to not keep mum over repeated sexual assaults.

According to the police, the family stays in Appapada area of the Kurar village.

“The man allegedly started targeting her sometime around January last year. The girl recently confided in her mother, who then approached us. We have registered the case based on their complaint,” said L Vhanmane, senior inspector at Kurar police station.

Based on the girl’s complaint, the police have booked her father under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for rape.

The police said the girl had told officials that he would sexually abuse her whenever she would be alone at home.
