Singaporea­n bizman accused of raping Mumbai woman on the run

MUMBAI: Officials from Bandra police station are on the lookout for a Singaporea­n businessma­n, accused of raping a 34-year-old on several occasions on the pretext of marrying her. The woman, a resident of the Western suburbs, had registered a case on September 26.

Inspector Sanjeev Bhole from Bandra police station confirmed that a case has been registered and the accused is on the run. He said, the accused was nowhere in sight when they visited his official accommodat­ion in Bandra.

Based on the primary investigat­ion, cops reached the conclusion that he had returned to Singapore and are now trying to contact his offices in Mumbai and Singapore to trace his whereabout­s.
