Sin­ga­porean biz­man ac­cused of rap­ing Mum­bai woman on the run

MUM­BAI: Of­fi­cials from Ban­dra po­lice sta­tion are on the look­out for a Sin­ga­porean busi­ness­man, ac­cused of rap­ing a 34-year-old on sev­eral oc­ca­sions on the pre­text of mar­ry­ing her. The woman, a res­i­dent of the Western sub­urbs, had registered a case on Septem­ber 26.

In­spec­tor San­jeev Bhole from Ban­dra po­lice sta­tion con­firmed that a case has been registered and the ac­cused is on the run. He said, the ac­cused was nowhere in sight when they vis­ited his of­fi­cial ac­com­mo­da­tion in Ban­dra.

Based on the pri­mary in­ves­ti­ga­tion, cops reached the con­clu­sion that he had re­turned to Sin­ga­pore and are now try­ing to con­tact his of­fices in Mum­bai and Sin­ga­pore to trace his where­abouts.
