After aides pass on number, Ravi Pujari threatens hotelier

Fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari made a threat call, this time to the owner of Gajalee Hotel on last Saturday, a day after two of his men landed there and threatened a waiter, asking him to give Pujari’s phone number to his boss.

The duo had apparently also fired a round from a dummy revolver on Friday night when they landed there, however, their threat was not clear as the person who entered the hotel slurred and couldn’t be understood.

“Not everything that the person said could be understood and his verbal delivery was comical. The sequence of events were fast and hence the firing also went unnoticed until a dummy bullet was found while sweeping the floor later,” said a police officer.

The two unidentifi­ed men covering his face, the other came inside and issued the threat.

On Saturday, the hotel’s landline received a phone call that was attended by one of the staffers. It was Pujari who had made the call and he said, “Itna sab honeke baad bhe call kyu nahe kiya (Why haven’t you called even after all this happened).”

However, the line was not clear and hence everything could not be understood and the receiver hung up. Police were informed and the officials were already tapping the phone. However, location of the caller could not be ascertaine­d. The police are yet to trace the duo.
