‘All latest stents are available, talk of shortage incorrect’
There are nine actionable complaints of overcharging; a majority of calls are about patients enquiring about angioplasty as they want to wellinformed about their rights.
Bhupendra Singh, chairman of National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), ruled out a shortage of cardiac stents and blamed doctors for spreading false information. He said they should focus on their core competency rather than spreading rumours about the paucity of such devices in the market. Here are excerpts from an interview:
