7OFFAMILY INJURED IN ACCIDENT AT THANE

A family of 13 people from Thane met with an accident on Ghodbunder road on Sunday afternoon, in which seven of them were injured.

The injured were rushed to the Thane civil hospital.

All 13 of them are residents of Bhim Nagar at Vartak Nagar in Thane.

On Sunday, the family was travelling from Bhim Nagar to Mira Road around 3pm in a hired Mahindra jeep, when the jeep’s rear tyre suddenly burst, and the driver lost control of the car.

A police officer from Kasarwadavli police station said,” As the tyre burst, the jeep tilted and later skid on the road and dashed against the divider. The jeep was damaged and later seized by the police station.”

He added, “We are taking statements of the injured people, and will soon register a case.”

A doctor from Thane civil hospital said,” There are two minor children who have been injured, but they are out of danger. The patients will be discharged soon.”
