Indian women beat Belarus 51 in hockey test match

BHOPAL: Playing their first match since the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy triumph last year, India women beat the visiting Belarus national squad 5-1 in the inaugural Test on Thursday. India took the early lead in the 11th minute through a penalty corner and followed it up with a sensational field goal by Navjot Kaur in the 15th minute. Though Belarus did well to defend their circle in the second quarter, Punam Barla came up with good stick-work to set up a goal in the 29th minute. In the fourth quarter, captain Deep Grace Ekka (57th min) and Gurjit Kaur (60th) scoring off penalty corners.

ALI-MUSTAFA CHAMPS IN HIMALAYAN DRIVE
