COA asks Kumble for a roadmap

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Committee of Administra­tors (COA) held a fruitful first meeting with coach Anil Kumble and rest of the Indian cricket team’s support staff on the sidelines of the BCCI Awards in Bangalore.

The COA led by former CAG Vinod Rai had a detailed discussion with head coach Kumble and assistant coaches R Sridhar and Sanjay Bangar.

Diana Edulji and Ramachandr­a Guha were the other COA members who were present in the meeting held on Wednesday, before the Annual Awards function in the evening.

A discussion also took plac on the central contracts of th India players and renumerati­o to the support staff includin Bangar and Sridhar, who ar seeking a revision in their sala ries. “It was a very productiv meeting and lasted for about 3 minutes. It was an importan meeting considerin­g the CO had not formally met with th players and support staff.

“Kumble was quite receptiv to the ideas floated and has bee asked to submit a detailed repor covering senior, junior an women’s cricket after the cur rent series against Australia,” source told PTI.

It has been learnt that CO chief Rai had a separate meetin with India captain Virat Koh and junior selection committe chairman Venkatesh Prasad.
