Yogi impressed with shelter home run by Mulayam’s daughterin­law

Chief minister Yog Adityanath on Friday visited Kanha Upvan, a shelter home for cows and other stray animals run by an NGO patronised by Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daugh ter-in-law Aparna Yadav.

Aparna and her husband Prateek (Mulayam’s son), who are ardent animal lovers and have been espousing the cause o stray cattle, gave Adityanath a tour of the shelter home.

The duo had met the chie minister soon after he took over the charge of UP and discussed the cow protection measures in the state.

The CM was so impressed with the facilities at the shelter that he directed officials to come up with similar projects in other districts.

Adityanath was also accom panied by deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma who is credited with conceptual­ising the project as Lucknow’s mayor.

“With cities expanding, such shelter homes can be an idea solution to address the issue o cattle settlement,” he said.

The chief minister also inspected the hospital for ani mals on the campus and directed officials to come up with more such initiative­s.

While taking a tour, he saw some children playing in the field and inquired about their education.

When told that they were the kids of labourers working in Kanha Upvan, he directed the municipal officials to arrange for their education that must be done by the LMC.
