We lead hectic lives. Only meditation can bring inner peace
These days our lives have become monotonous. This is not surprising because our actions are driven by desires that lead to fulfilment of materialistic needs. To achieve our life’s desires, many among us sacrifice their morals and values. This is wrong and could lead to stress and anxiety in our daily lives.
How do we come out of this cycle of stress and anxiety? Meditation is the only action that will help us cleanse our inner self and bring out the true inner beauty. Meditation is that which gives you deep rest. Meditation is an activity in which the practitioner just sits and allows the mind to dissolve. It is a simple activity, which can easily be practised by all. Meditation is not concentration. It is de-concentration, says Sri Si Ravi Shankar of Art of Living fame. The rest in meditation is deeper than the deepest sleep that you can ever have. When the mind becomes free from agitation, is calm and serene and at peace, meditation happens, he says.
The beauty of meditation is that anyone, irrespective of which faith she belongs to, can do it with ease because it is a spiritual and not a religious activity. Unfortunately, we often confuse spirituality with religion. Meditation is the only action that can help us get over the turmoil that we face in our lives. It is the easiest thing to do, but the toughest to be done consistently. Hence, don’t wait. Meditate.
