Ensure safety of Kashmiri students: Rajnath to states
Taking cognisance of the of incidents of harassment involving Kashmiri students, Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Friday asked chief ministers of all the states to ensure their safety.
On his instructions, the home ministry also issued an advisory to all the states to take strict action against those responsible for such incidents. The ministry ordered the states to sensitise their designated nodal officers on the issue of Kashmiri students and address their complaints . "I have learnt that there were a few incidents of misbehaviour against Kashmiris in some places. I appeal to all the chief ministers to ensure security of Kashmiris in their states. I appeal to everyone to consider the Kashmiri youth as their own brethren and treat them well," said the home minister.
In the advisory, the home ministry said recently there have been reports of harassment of students of Jammu and Kashmir tions in some states. Therefore, the state governments and police authorities are requested to take strict action against the culprits.

The Jodhpur district and sessions court on Friday ordered actor Salman Khan to personally appear before the court on July 6 while hearing an appeal filed by the Rajasthan government on the actor’s acquittal in connection with the arms act case.
Khan’s lawyer has also been asked to produce a ₹20,000 bail bond in this regard.
The Rajasthan government had appealed before the session’s court after the actor was acquitted by a CJM court in Jodhpur for possessing weapons with an expired licence.
Session judge Bhawandas Agrawal, while hearing the appeal on Friday ordered Khan’s counsel to produce the bail bond. The Bollywood star was asked to appear before the court for a hearing on the appeal, but he did not come on Friday.
