The BCCI’S media manager tweeted a photograph of Manjrekar and Pollard engaged in a conversation on the field during the Mumbai Indians versus Kings XI Punjab tie in Indore on Thursday.

Pollard had taken offence to Manjrekar’s on-air remarks. Manjrekar’s comment on Pollard’s batting invited a strong response from the Mumbai Indians all-rounder.

Pollard had thought that the former India batsman called him “brainless” during commentary. “Do you know how I get big so.. about BRAINLESS.. words are very powerful .. once it leaves u can’t take it back.. sins of parents fall on...(sic)

“U feel any positive can come out of your mouth bcuz u get pay to talk u can continue with your verbal diarrhea ...(sic)” Pollard had posted.

Manjrekar clarified that he never called Pollard ‘brainless’. “Said ‘Does he have the range (to bat higher up the order)?’ Using terms like ‘no brains’ or ‘brainless’ not my style. I can be critical but never insulting,” Manjrekar tweeted.

The IPL also released the commentary feed of what Manjrekar had said on commentary in an attempt to douse the controversy. “I would also encourage all those reacting to the Pollard issue to hear the footage & not just take my word for it ” Manjrekar had
